Note: All references to the use of Tap apply to using finger or pen device to select an area on a touch screen device such as smartphones and tablets. References to Tap are synonymous with using left click on pointer-enabled device (mouse, trackball, &c).

Initial Default Operation

Portrait versus Landscape Orientation Screen Displays

Portrait Orientation: the screen will display each section (header, photo carousel, quotes carousel then footer) in a vertically stacked manner.

Landscape Orientation: the photo and quotes carousels will be displayed side-by-side sandwiched between the header and footer sections so as to better balance the display.

Photo Carousel

The initial display for the Photo carousel is to remain stationary on the Cover photo until the viewer either Taps or Swipes on the displayed photo, as described below.

On touchscreen devices, swiping will advance to the next photo in the direction of the swipe (left: previous, right: next). Alternatively, the viewer may also choose to use the arrow navigation buttons on either side of the photo to move to the next or previous photo.

On pointer-oriented devices (mouse, trackball, &c), the viewer can use the arrow navigation buttons on either side of the photo to move to the next or previous photo.

When in auto-scroll mode, the arrow navigation buttons are hidden; tapping the photo carousel will halt the photo auto-scrolling and redisplay the arrow navigation buttons.

Quote Carousel

The default action for the Quotes carousel is to auto-scroll while viewing the photo carousel.

Carousels (photos or quotes) Auto-Scroll Feature

Single-Tapping any stationary carousel object will start its auto-scroll feature.

Single-Tapping an auto-scrolling carousel object will halt its auto-scroll feature.

Double-Tapping a carousel object will advance the object one frame and halt any auto-scroll that may have been in effect.
